But sometimes your gear has to get out of the way to let you create. Buying something new might not be the answer if your gear collection is getting overwhelming. Before you give in to G.A.S. and add a new piece to your collection, find out if there’s something you could retire to decrease the clutter.

Show promoters and talent buyers don’t work on a volunteer basis. Sure, they probably got their jobs because they have an interest in music, but do you know what they love more than music? Being able to pay for health insurance, eating out every now and then, and having a roof to sleep under every night. If you don’t bring people to your shows, the venue won’t make any money, and there’s only so many favors you can expect them to do for you.

Evan Zwisler is a NYC-based musician who is most notably known for his work with The Values as a songwriter and guitarist. He is an active member of the Brooklyn music scene, throwing fundraisers and organizing compilations for Planned Parenthood and the Anti-Violence Project. He started playing music in the underground punk scene of Shanghai with various local bands when he was in high school before going to California for college and finally moving to New York in 2012.

New rap songs 2018

As a performer, she was recently seen in Sondheim on Sondheim at the FreeFall Theatre in a cast that included Ann Morrison (the original Mary in “Merrily We Roll Along”), and Kissy Simmons (Nala, “The Lion King,” on Broadway). She also loves classical music by angsty Germans, moonlighting as the frontman for a yacht rock cover band, serving on the leadership council for March Chorus NYC, and more.

And yet, for the most part, it is a foreign way of thinking to our own: Much religious meaning in music today is practiced, and heard, as an all-encompassing, multi-faith spirituality rather than this Baroque-era sense that more specifically imagines “theology heard as sound.”
